The Château Angelus vintage 2013 offers a silky texture full of freshness. Very racy, it presents a splendid wooded, with a slight presence in middle of mouth. This year, the selection will have been even more drastic.
It is the first vintage as the first Grand Cru Classé A, the Château Angélus experienced a real impulse in the 80s, thanks to Hubert de Boüard, co-owner of the vineyard. After modernizing his equipment, he also opted for a short size of vines and late harvests, amplifying the characteristic aromas of his soil.
The name of Angelus comes from a very old parcel, from where the winemakers could hear the Angelus ringing simultaneously by the 3 neighboring churches.
The grape variety of its 26 hectares of vines is composed of 51% Merlot, 47% Cabernet Franc and 2% Cabernet Sauvignon, which gives the wine a finesse growing with age. The wines are bred 18 to 22 months in 100% new barrels.
