The Port Charlotte MRC 01 Whiskey vintage 2010 is a peaty and fruity single malt from the Bruichladdich distillery, on Islay. Bottled at 59.2% and in limited numbers, this Port Charlotte is distilled from 100% Scottish barley from the Invernesshire region. 50% of the whiskey was aged in first fill American whiskey barrels, while the remaining 50% was aged in second fill French wine barrels (MRC Mouton Rothschild). These two whiskeys were then combined for an additional year of maturation in barrels of Bordeaux wine from the left bank. A lively whiskey, loaded with fruit and strong Islay peat smoke. A wonderful experience.
