Johnett Whisky 2012 is a unique whisky. It is a single malt distilled by ETTER Zug in Switzerland. Johnett 2012 is a whisky made entirely in Switzerland, drawing its source from the finest regional ingredients. The malted barley is prepared by the Baar brewery (Zug), the distillation is handled by Etter, the spring water comes from the Hell Caves in Baar, and oak barrels specially transported from the Rosenau estate in Kastanienbaum (LU) are used to store the precious liquid. All these elements combine to create a regional and authentic beverage, which we hope to make known far and wide in Switzerland. It is an intense gold color. On the nose, you'll find ripe, stored fruits such as pears, blackberries, dried prunes, lots of pear peel, rum-covered raisins, buttercream with freshly grated vanilla pods, cocoa powder with milk, semolina flambéed with kirsch sauce, and delicate toasted notes. Giving this whisky time to breathe will further refine it. On the palate, it is smooth, harmonious, and fruity, with pear peel, decent smoky notes, a pleasant structure of malted sugars, and gentle roasted aromas. The palate is flattered by a hint of cubeb pepper. The finish is smoky and ripe fruit aromas. This whisky exhibits tremendous complexity. Whether smelled or tasted, it exhibits different characters. And the more you pay attention to it, the more diverse its facets will be revealed.
