Le Pavillon de Léoville Poyferré 2016 is the second wine of Château Léoville Poyferré and Moulin Riche. It is made from the youngest vines. It is a more accessible wine, because it is fruity and easy to drink, but does not age like its elder. The Pavillon de Léoville Poyferré, which is a Saint Julien, is grown on limestone soil typical of the Bordeaux region. Its aging potential is 20 to 25 years. The blend is made up of 61% Cabernet Sauvignon, 27% Merlot, 8% Petit Verdot and 4% Cabernet Franc. Its nose has a great aromatic power delivering perfumes of violet, black cherry and blackcurrant, all with a sensation of great freshness and purity. In the mouth, it is tense and lively on the attack, the wine develops in the middle of the mouth on a sappy tannic structure with a fine grain, shoulder width, a creamy side, all not without elegance. Its color is intense purple with black reflections. It will be at its peak in 2028.
