Ardbeg AN OA Whisky, Scotland, Islay, 46.6%, 70 cl in its case
€57.26
€81.80 L
Ardbeg AN OA Whisky is a tribute to its wild origins, with contrasts between intensity and sweetness that celebrate the encounter between storms and calm.Located at the southernmost point of the remote Scottish island of Ardbeg, the immense cliffs of Oa rise proudly against the storms of the Atlantic, sheltering the Islay coastline where the distillery has been located for 200 years. This whisky is matured in three different ways: Pedro Ximenez casks, charred oak barrels, and ex-bourbon casks. Its sweetness, spices, and intensity are evident, making it a unique whisky. Its nose is powerful and saline. The initial peat is rich, full of salt and white pepper. The marine register is very present, followed by notes of lemon, licorice, and heady flowers. The palate is balanced and powerful, balancing richness and freshness. The finish is persistent, smooth yet intense, with notes of anise, caraway, and subtle, distant smoke. This is a peated whisky with over 55 ppm.
