Domaine Maire ARBOIS White Wine AOC Tradition Chardonnay Vignes De Sorbief 75 cl
€18.40 L
This Arbois wine, 100% Chardonnay, comes from the Vignes de Sorbief. In its beautiful light gold color with green highlights, it is a great Chardonnay with a complex and refined nose. When tasting, floral aromas emerge on the palate, fruity, buttery and toasted notes, substance and a long persistence. The Chardonnay grape variety, originally from Burgundy but cultivated in the Jura since the 10th century, has become a child of the country. Its great adaptability makes it the most widespread grape variety, particularly on limestone soils and light soils. This cuvée is made from Chardonnay grapes harvested manually on the Sorbief plot, a historic property of the Maire family, located to the west of the village of Arbois and recognized as one of the most beautiful terroirs in the appellation. - Surface area of the plot: 2.85 Ha (locality “En Cuvigny”) - Exposure: south/southeast - Age of vines: 44 years (1974) - Soils: limestone with gryphea (fossil shells) Several generations were necessary to patiently build one of the most beautiful estates in the region, centered on its flagship appellations: Château-Chalon, l’Étoile and Arbois. The Maire & Fils estate today covers 234 hectares of vines, producing all the grape varieties of the region.
