WHISKEY Port Charlotte Heavily Peated 10 Years Peated Islay 50° 70 cl
This 10-year-old Port Charlotte Whiskey is a beautiful Single Malt and comes in the place of the "Scottish Barley" distillery. This whiskey has been imagined, distilled, aged and bottled in the region of Islay in Scotland.
It is made from 100% Scottish barley from Inverness County and spring water from Islay. Port Charlotte 10 years is peated with 40 ppm *. It is 75% aged in first fill Bourbon American whiskey casks and 25% in second fill French wine casks.
The launch of Port Charlotte 10 years mark the arrival of the new packaging 2018 imagined by the distillery: a new sleek green glass bottle, a nod to the design of Islay peated whiskey bottles.
Whiskey Port Charlotte reinvents its range and packaging in 2018 to make way for this 10-year-old that replaces the "Scottish Barley" of the distillery. Still made from 100% Scottish barley from Inverness County and spring water from Islay, this ultra-peat single malt (40 ppm) is 75% aged in first-fill American whiskey casks and 25% in French wine barrels for second filling. The new packaging of the Port Charlotte range in green glass bottles is a nod to the design of peated whiskey bottles produced by other Islay distilleries. However, the distillery is that its single malt is imagined, distilled, aged and bottled in Islay.
* PPM - parts per million - of phenolic compounds, measure the impact of oily smoke from peat that settles on germinated barley as it dries. The longer this time is, the higher the ppm value. A well-peated Islay whiskey is around 40-50ppm. But let's never forget the peculiarities of each distillery in terms of whiskey feeling.
