The brown Pelforth beer emits smells of burnt caramel and roasted malt. On the palate, it reveals a slight bitterness covered by the taste of caramel and the strong malting, which gives a lot of body to this sweet beer.
In her Pelforth glass, the Pelforth Brune presents a mahogany-colored robe that pulls towards the brown and is adorned with a creamy beige moss hat.

The Pelforth Brune is a French brown beer. It was the first beer that was marketed by the company that later became the Pelforth brewery. Created in 1935 by Jean Deflandre, it is produced from two malts of barley and uses high fermentation, with an English yeast.
He named it Pelforth 43. "Pel" for Pelican, strong because it has character and an English yeast (hence the "forth" which gives an anglophone touch) and 43 because it contains 43 kg of malt per hectolitre produced.

Even if it stops during the Second World War, Pelforth's production will have no difficulty in setting out again in 1950, and reconquering Europe. The 43 is then set aside and the Pelforth is sold in bottles of 25 cl, 33cl, as well as in barrels of all sizes.
In 1963 Pelforth Pale emerged, which in 1991 became the Pelforth Blonde.
