The Balvenie Week Of Peat whiskey is a peaty single malt that manages to surprise us while retaining the sweetness and roundness that is the character of The Balvenie. Once a year, the stills at The Balvenie distillery are cleaned. The distillery then takes advantage of a week before this big cleaning to distill peated malt. We then obtain a single malt made exclusively from Speyside peat and aged exclusively in American oak barrels for 14 years. Its nose is filled with elegant peat smoke with floral, caramelized and honeyed notes. The palate is round and creamy, it reveals a beautiful balance between smoke, citrus fruits, honey and bourbon vanilla. The finish is delicately smoky, and tends towards lingering notes of vanilla cream.
