Le Rum Savanna Le Must is the name of one of Savanna's latest creations which is unveiled to us in a bottle with a renewed design. It results from a blend of molasses rums from column distillation, and aged between 6 and 9 years in old oak barrels that have contained Cognac. The tasting reveals pleasant mineral and vegetal notes that exhale out of our glass and strengthen after aeration. On the palate, we feel the presence of caramel and vanilla, on a beautiful woody-vegetal accord. The Must, a well-deserved name! In operation since 1870, the Savanna distillery perpetuates the tradition of rum. Rooted in her land in Reunion, she masters the entire process of making her rum, from cutting the cane to bottling, which is done within the distillery. Rare thing for a rum distillery. Savanna produces agricultural rums and traditional rums. It is also an expert in the production of large aroma type rums (very concentrated traditional rum, for which vinasses were used during fermentation).
